Practical information

The Chara Art Music Summer Academy is aimed at student musicians at the beginning of their career or professionals wishing to improve their skills.

An all-inclusive formula, regrouping the lessons, the catering and the accommodation at one place, allows  students to get the most of their daily individual lessons and also to benefit from special fees, therefore reducing their students' budgets at the peak of the touristic season in Provence. The picturesque village of Alleins is nestled in the Durance valley and  flanked by green hills. Not far from the most famous provencal sites, Alleins still keeps its peaceful ambient, and yet an authentic festive spirit throught the summer. 

For their daily lessons, students can be accompanied by a pianist if they wish.

Concerts are held every evening, allowing students to perform in front of an audience. During each Masterclass, two concerts open to the public are organized: a solo recital for the teacher and a concert for the students.

* An application fee will be required for payment before the May 15th, 2024. It is a guarantee for your place in the Masterclass you wish to attend, and is not refundable. If you attend the Masterclass, it will be deducted from the educational costs.

Educational costs are related to your learning experience: individual and group lessons with your top class professor, work with the accompanying pianists, organisation of concerts and recitals, and material conditions enabling you to practice and perform.

Accommodation & catering costs are related to all the material conditions of your stay allowing you to benefit from a full immersive experience. Learn more here.

Accommodation & catering

During the Masterclasses, students and professors are enjoying the hospitality of Villa Chara, in the heart of the provençal historical village of Alleins. 

Villa Chara is an authentic 19th century home, recently restaured and refurbished for your full confort. Its painted ceilings, that you may discover in the library and in the main floor rooms, are of highest artistic quality of that period.  

You will be staying in one of the twin rooms with central air-conditionning system.

The catering is provided on-site, allowing you to enjoy an all-inclusive experience, with a home made french cuisine.
Breakfast and lunch are included in the accomodation & catering fee.
If you would like to enjoy a full pension and entirely dedicate to your music and rest, it is possible to reserve your dinner for an addition charge of 50 euros for a total duration of your Masterclass.
